Created by researchers from UC Berkeley, Arena (formerly LMArena) was founded to help understand AI performance in the real world. The platform, previously known as Chatbot Arena, quickly gained notoriety in the AI industry as the gold standard of evaluation. In 2025, we formed Arena Intelligence Inc. and raised funding from a16z and The University of California. Since then, we have been on a mission to obsessively measure everything and advance AI research for the benefit of humanity.

With $250 million in venture funding from leading investors, we’re advancing our mission to make AI evaluation transparent, rigorous, and trusted across the industry.
